Through more than 40 years of work, we know starting early has the biggest impact on children and families. Quality early learning programs provide children with a safe, welcoming environment where they can play and learn. Our doulas, home visitors and teachers work with families to provide the academic, social and emotional preparation that infants, toddlers and preschoolers need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
Start Early’s direct service programs and its community-based agencies offer:
- Quality Head Start and Early Head Start programming and care for young children
- Individualized lesson planning and support for children with diagnosed or suspected disabilities
- Caring and well-trained staff
- Support, trainings and resources for parents and families
- Leadership and advocacy opportunities for parents
- Facilitation of health services like immunizations, and vision, dental and hearing
- Limited transportation assistance
