As a manager on the Start Early Consulting team, Megan Turner consults with public sector leaders and advocates at the state and community levels to ensure equity is at the center of early childhood systems and policies. She is dedicated to ensuring parent and community voice are heard and that all children and families have equitable access to prenatal to five programs and services.
Prior to joining Start Early, she worked for the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education managing the universal Pre-K expansion grant for community-based early learning centers. Megan brings experience spanning Early Head Start/Head Start, home visiting, family engagement, program creation and implementation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Bowie State University, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Trinity Washington University and is currently pursuing her doctorate of education in Urban Educational Leadership from Morgan State University. Megan resides in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
