Michelle Bezark, Ph.D. conducts research and writes about early care and education (ECE) policy, governance, and administration through a socio-historical lens. Michelle is particularly interested in how individual families and practitioners experience federal policies and what social, economic, and political conditions lead to effective policy changes for families with young children. At Start Early, she leads the Research Policy Agenda design and implementation with members of the National Policy Team.
Michelle holds a doctorate in U.S. History from Northwestern University, with a specialization in law and policy. She has won numerous awards to support her research and has published her work in the Journal of Policy History and The Washington Post.
