Stephanie Baker, PhD, is an Association Professor and Department Chair of Public Health Studies at Elon University. She has a strong commitment to racial equity which transcends her personal and professional lives. Her commitment to centering equity means being intentional about acknowledging and interrupting the ways in which inequities are produced and maintained in research, in healthcare provision, and in every system in our society. She is engaged in multiple long-term training and capacity building initiatives around racism including being an organizer and trainer with the Racial Equity Institute and was a long-time member of the Greensboro Health Disparities Collaborative. Dr. Baker’s experience with community-based participatory research is extensive, including supporting community needs assessments. Dr. Baker has a Master’s degree in physical therapy and has received numerous awards for her leadership and community service.
