Start Early (formerly known as the Ounce) provides resources and peer learning opportunities and support services to drive effective early learning and care policies in 21 states and Washington, D.C. We offer advisory services, technical assistance and content expertise to local and state early childhood advocates, practitioners and systems and government leaders. Our peer learning opportunities bring key stakeholders together to enhance policy content knowledge and advocacy skills, share innovations and advance collective impact. We also generate and disseminate knowledge to support best practices, alignment and coordination across the country’s early childhood field.
Our Advisory Approach Aims to:
- Provide resources and tools for partners and peers to use in their own communities and states.
- Increase capacity of early learning and care advocates through our partnerships with the Educare Learning Network, state agencies and state and local leaders.
- Enable state and local leaders to improve, implement and expand policies and investments that best create high-quality early learning and care systems.
Our goal is to create conditions that enable meaningful policy reforms and system improvements at local, state and federal levels and transform practice across the nation.
